The invisible dragon had been hovering over their house, learning about Ryn's world. He had heard stories about Ryn's grandmother, a woman who they said could be a lot like a dragon lady.
He flew to see Jena. "Fairy godmother Jena, why do people say Ryn's grandmother could be like a dragon?"
Her voice rang out like a melody on a piano. "Why don't you find out for yourself!"
The dragon was confused for a moment. "How?" Jena motioned upwards. Suddenly the dragon understood "Oh, of course."

He flew up, up, up, into the heavens, and found her at the center of a group of angels. He perched on a cloud behind her and listened quietly.
She was bellowing at the angels. "St Matthew wants this musical to be big! All the other saints are coming! Now, what are you all staring at?"

In heaven, the angels can see invisible beings, as clearly as we see our daydreams. One of the angels, who sang tenor in the chorus of angels, spoke up. "There's an invisible dragon sitting on a cloud behind you..." She felt like she was back on earth, with someone trying to play a practical joke on her. "Why would an invisible dragon be..."
The dragon interrupted her. "Toni."
She turned around, and stared, astonished. Then she collected herself. "Can I help you, invisible dragon? In case you want to know, there are no parts for invisible dragons in my musical..."
The dragon grinned. This woman really was a bit of a dragon. "There's someone I want you to see."
She was curious. "Who? Where?"
The dragon answered only one of her questions. "Back on earth."

An offer of a trip back to earth was a rare thing in heaven. She wanted to go immediately. She turned back to the angels. "OK folks, rehearsal is over, well done, see you all again soon..."
The angels all giggled to themselves as they flew off to continue their heavenly lives.

The dragon leaned his enormous invisible neck forward. "Climb on."
Toni scrambled onto his neck and settled comfortably on his shoulders. "Here we go."
They flew down, down, down, back to the house where Ryn lived. She was thrilled to riding on a dragon, and to see earth up close once again. No-one on earth could see them, she was completely cloaked by his invisibility.

Ryn's parents were just leaving the house, to take him for a walk in the sunshine. Toni spoke up. "That's my son! And..."
Tears welled up in her eyes when she realized she was looking at her grandson. The dragon kept quiet, and hovered above Ryn and his parents, giving the dragon lady as much time as she wanted.

Soon Toni whispered to the dragon. "I always thought my arty-farty son was a bit good-for-nothing, but he seems to be a great dad!"
The dragon whispered back. "Ryn's mother is a very special woman, too."

They hovered for a few more minutes, until the dragon knew the time had come to return the dragon lady to her heavenly home. He flew up, up, up, until he reached the cloud where he had found her.
She dismounted, seeming a little tamer, a little less dragon-like than before. "Thank you, invisible dragon."

The dragon lifted off from the cloud, and responded as he flew past her on his way back home. "You're welcome, dragon lady."
