The Dragon Princess

The invisible dragon flew a long time by the light of the moon. He flew as if in a dream, was overcome by a feeling that he had crossed into a place filled with legends. He saw a brilliant light shining from out of a valley ahead, so he swooped down to explore...

The sound of music filled his ears. Drums, guitars, and a girl’s voice like no other. Her voice soared over the crowd, thousands of cheering onlookers. The dragon listened, entrance by the power of the music.

Then he heard the words... she was singing about a Dragon Princess...

Now he was interested. The song was the last of the show, and after the band left the stage the dragon hovered invisibly overhead. The crowd began to disperse. The dragon swooped down, looking for the girl singer. He found her relaxing in a grotto, a few hundred meters from the stage.

Perching on the ground not too far away, he craned his neck toward her and whispered. “Are you a Dragon Princess?”
She was completely startled. “Who’s there? I can’t see anyone... Who are you?”
The dragon realized he should explain. “It’s rare to meet an invisible dragon, but you have just met one...”
The girl singer was completely surprised, but she collected herself immediately. With a grin, she retorted. “It's very rare to meet a Dragon Princess......but if you do; NEVER cross her!!!!!”

The dragon was taken aback a moment. “I promise I will never cross you... Are you really a Dragon Princess?”
She was also a little taken aback by what was happening, and admitted it. “I’m sorry, you surprised me. It's one thing to read about dragons and another to meet them......”

The songs the dragon had heard her sing was still in his mind. “Why did you sing about a Dragon Princess?”

The girl singer had to pinch herself. A real invisible dragon was asking her why she writes the songs she writes. She took a deep breath, and explained. “My music is the story in my heart; that my voice will never speak of. I’m lucky enough to be different from everybody else, I will never change from being who I am. I hear songs about dragons and princesses, because... that is who I am. I don't want to be a Rock Star; I want to be a Legend ...so I write about legends.”

The dragon was glad he had found this legendary girl singer. “I have to leave now, but I will come back to hear you again...”

With a beat of his wings he began to lift off. She sensed he was leaving. “There’s a good reason you should come back, my friend...”

The dragon hovered over her. “Why is that?”

She looked up in the direction of his voice, and called out. “Because I think my next song may be about an invisible dragon...”

The girl singer is alive and well and living in England, a land filled with great legends.
