The dragon was fidgety and Jena could not work out why. "What troubles you, good dragon?"
He looked at the ground. "I have a birthday present for Ryn, but I don't know if I should send it to him."
Jena's voice chimed curiously like a piano melody. "Why not? What is it?"
The dragon fidgeted a bit more, then craned his neck around and whispered to the little fairy. "It's a very special song for him. But his birthday was a few weeks ago, and I didn't have the song ready in time. I needed some help with the recording from the magician, and he went fishing on a planet in the Andromeda galaxy. I had to wait until he got back, and now Ryn's birthday present is late..."
Jena grinned a very curious fairy grin. "You recorded a song for the boy? Can I hear it?"
The dragon gave her some tiny headphones. "Sure. Here you go."
He fidgeted the whole time that Jena listened to his song, then blurted out a question the moment it finished. "Well? What do you think?"
