Magic such as theirs

(Written by Amanda Durand - The Poet Caster)

I take the magician's hand and climb aboard the eagerly awaiting invisible dragon, horse of the sky. We rise towards the sky leaving many layers of colours, smells and sounds.

We soar, parting the clouds, making swirling patterns as we fly. We make way for the Angels that paint the dusk and dawn.

I enjoy the company of the magician, a traveling troubadour of songs and stories. I admire his special collection of feelings and dreams, which he magically spilt from the appreciative tormented, talented, beautiful and sad souls from out of their human vessels. All once buried deep all over the world. He gave them new life with the dragon's gossamer breaths to rekindle the sparks and set the talented back to alight their own skies. The magician showed them the world is their audience and the views of endless possibilities.

The magician does not seem to fly without the dragon, though the dragon at times flies alone. I ponder to query what he is searching for alone. Or is he a great spirit connecting to talents of his interests, receiving joy in surprising himself with each new find, delighting in helping others? Inspiring his own wonderful creations loved by many.

The magician credits me with a smirk knowing I block acknowledgement, giving me queries for myself as to why I do this. A special lesson he wants me to learn. He secretly slipped me this awareness though I don't need to acknowledge as he sees what no one else seems to. That I do wonder, that I struggle to let be, that I am learning. I'm grateful for the thought given silently, secretly.

I am touched by this magnificent pair's magic long after we have landed and parted. Back in my part of the world very far away. My muses have also returned to me on the wings of the dragon through the heart of the magician.

I run my finger over an invisible dragon scale in the shape of a star. One as they are as one. Tattooed by them in magic, an endless feeling of inspiration to the touch. A parting gift, a piece of both of them that will always remain.

I will always be grateful. I wish the best for them and to see them soar further. For the world to awaken to their magic, their enchanting adventures and their many talents. The world could use more magic such as theirs.
