The Great Dragon

Sarah returned home. "I'm all yoga-ed out this evening." She wondered to herself if yoga-ed is a real word, but felt peaceful as she lay down to sleep. Dreams began…

The invisible dragon flew her south from Scotland, over the green fields of England and beyond to the Bay of Biscay. They soared over Spain and Portugal, then with Lisbon disappearing behind them they crossed the small distance between Europe and North Africa. She was enthralled by the view. "Dragon, where are we going?"
He called back to her as they began their journey over Morocco. "A place where a dragon sleeps…"

He followed the coastline, past Tangier and Casablanca, then turned inland, flying low over the red clay medina of Marrakesh. The moonscape of the Atlas mountains was soon below them and the invisible dragon began to search for a place he remembered from long ago. "There!"
Sarah gazed down in wonder at a rock formation hidden in the valleys. The head and neck, the enormous wings and the long tail of a dragon were clearly outlined. What had happened here? What was this place?

The dragon swooped down to a Berber village in the next valley and landed, calling out in a language Sarah did not recognize.
The villagers came out to greet them. They could "see" the invisible dragon in their hearts and their dreams, and spoke with him. He translated for her. "Dragons and travelers are welcome here. They want us to join them for a simple meal."
Her normal fears and inhibitions were nonexistent. "I would like that." She dismounted.
The villagers brought food, a delicious meal of vegetables cooked in a tajine, and water to drink in a clay jar. While they ate, the dragon continued to translate their stories. "The great dragon in the rocks originated in Bhutan. He flew on many wonderful adventures, many thousands of years ago. But at the end of his days, he searched for a place to rest, here in the Atlas mountains. He lay down in the next valley and slept …for eternity. I first came to this place many years ago, to pay tribute to the great dragon. "
She was still curious. "Why did you bring me here?"
The dragon was silent for a long moment. "This is your dream."

Sarah finished her meal, and wanted to show her gratitude. "Thank you. I enjoyed that." The invisible dragon translated for the villagers this time, and they nodded in acknowledgement.
Then he turned to her. "Time to leave."
Her emotions were calling her to more adventures. "Can we go to more places like this?"
The invisible dragon had a sparkle in his eyes as he replied. "Of course. The world is as real as your dreams."
Sarah is alive and well and living in Scotland
